Chepkut died on Saturday morning.
The former MP is said to have collapsed at his home and was taken to Mediheal Hospital in Parklands where he was pronounced dead.
He is said to have died of a blood clot and high blood pressure.
He has been unwell for sometime and was admitted to hospital for long between late last year and early this year.
The former MP served the constituency between 2017 to 2022. He was elected as an independent candidate.
In 2022, his bid to defend the seat as an Independent candidate again flopped.
He lost to Samuel Chepkonga of UDA party.
Chepkut was known for his great sense of humour, both in public and Parliament.
Chepkut, between 1997 and 2003, served as the personal assistant of Nicholas Biwott, a powerful minister during President Daniel Moi’s reign.
He held a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Jabalpur University in India, and a Master of Arts Degree in Community Development from Kenyatta University.
President William Ruto has joined other leaders in sending message of condolence to the family and friends of former Mp.
The President described Chepkut as an astute politician who was known for his humility and humour.
“Chepkut was down-to-earth and a witty politician who served his people with dedication,” the President said
