Gachagua Launches Mass Youth Employment Programme: How to Apply
Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) is working with the government of President William Ruto to provide youths in Kenya with training and employment opportunities.
The Kenya Youth Employment & Entrepreneurship Accelerator (KYEEA) was officially unveiled by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on October 31, 2022, at the KEPSA offices in Nairobi.
Kenyans under the age of 35 will have access to courses in business, technology, and finance thanks to this ambitious initiative.
“Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) are key in achieving the targets of the Kenya Kwanza Plan,” Deputy President Rigathi asserted.
Many young people will be employed on the spot as a result of this new program’s expansion into the service.
The program’s goal is to increase the employability of young Kenyans in order to reduce the country’s high youth unemployment rate.
Qualifications
KEPSA encouraged young Kenyans (those under the age of 35) to visit their website, kepsa(dot)or.ke, to learn more about the training and career opportunities they offer.
The applicants must have completed secondary school education, and have no pending criminal records.
Rigathi applauded the private sector for working with the administration of President William Ruto to address youth unemployment.
“Today I am honoured to preside over the launch of the Kenya Youth employment and Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program. The youth remain central to our Government’s agenda to improve the lives of the millions of youth around the country,” said Gachagua.

The Deputy President added that “as a Government, we will provide the necessary support to take the youth closer to their collective dream of a better future. This fund and the partnership with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance will go a long way towards giving the youth an equal chance at life.”
It has been estimated that 38.9% of Kenya’s young people people are unemployed, despite the fact that annually, around 800,000 young people enter the labor market after completing studies from colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education.
“Our economy has not matched the supply in generation of new jobs for our youth. Experts have warned us of the ‘youth time bomb’ occasioned by the jobless youth bulge,” the Deputy President said.
KEPSA has said that the program will take advantage of technology and digital transformation, two of the core pledges of the Kenyan Kwanza government.
