Teachers are being sought out in significant numbers by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) for roles as test setters and moderators.
The Council announced its need for more teachers to join its team of test development professionals in a public notice released on Tuesday, January 23.
KNEC added that they were also targeting lecturers in the new drive.
The advertisement said, in part, that the “council seeks to train, certify, and hire teachers, tutors, and lecturers to be engaged in the creation of examination and evaluation instruments for school and teacher education.”
Qualifications
KNEC stated it would welcome hiring teachers with a strong grasp of topic area curriculum design.
In addition, they need to have taught for at least three years before applying.
The Teachers Service Commission requires all applicants to be certified teachers in the subject area sought .
Applicants should also be in possession of a police clearance certificate.
How to Apply
KNEC said that applications will be made online by contacting the council – td@knec(dot)ac(dot)ke.
“Attach scanned copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials and recommendations from heads of their institutions.
“Details about the application may be accessible through the KNEC website. Contracted Professionals already engaged by KNEC need not apply,” read the notice in part.
Applications were requested by March 1st, so applicants may be given priority.
