Tuesday, September 13, has been declared a national holiday in honor of William Ruto’s inauguration as president by Cabinet Secretary for the Interior Fred Matiang’i.
On Tuesday, Kenya’s head of government, Joseph Kinyua, called on the country to come together and enjoy the holiday.
It is hereby notified for the general information of the public that the public secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Public Holidays Act, declares Tuesday, the 13th September 2022 to be a public holiday, said holiday being the date of the swearing in of President-elect and Deputy President-elect, as stated by Matiang’i in the notice.
Both Ruto and Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua’s swearing-in have been announced by Kinyua, with the latter noting that the event would begin at 10 a.m. at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani.
