Controversial Lawyer Miguna Miguna has announced the exact date when he will jet back into the country. According to a statement released by the lawyer on September 22nd ,he will begin his journey from Toronto on October 24th and he his expected to land on Kenyan soil on the late hours of October 25th.
“After nearly 5 years of forced BARBARIC EXILE, I’m returning home. Departing from Toronto: October 24, 2022. Arrival at JKIA, Nairobi: October 25, 2022 at 8:20 PM. See you, everyone.” Miguna Tweeted.
Earlier on Miguna had announced that he received a new passport which was prompted by a directive by President William Ruto.
He stated that he is waiting for the red alerts to be removed so that he can return to the country at his earliest convenience.
“1687 days after Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, Fred Matiang’i, Karanja kibicho and G Kihalangwa conspired to illegally seize and destroy my Kenyan Passport, President William Ruto has had a new one delivered to me. Waiting for the lifting of red alerts,” he said.
The return of Miguna, who had previously requested assistance in doing so, was necessary so that she could witness the swearing-in of President William Ruto.
In a letter dated September 7, Miguna through his lawyer Adrian Kamotho, wrote to the Assumption of the Office of the President Committee chairperson Joseph Kinyua, saying it would be against the Constitution to carry on with their business, without any reasonable regard for his plight in exile.
“Thus, your Committee has an overarching duty and legal obligation to ensure that our client is facilitated to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the 5th president, His Excellency William Samoei Ruto without fail,” the letter read.
Miguna has barely touched the soil of Kenya, a country he calls his motherland, since 2018 when he was deported to Canada. His deportation followed a mock swearing-in of Raila Odinga on January 30, 2018.
