The revamped scheme also covers anaesthetist fees, nursing care, bed charges, and prescribed medications after hospitalization and discharge for all surgical operations, including transplants.

Members of the NHIF and other beneficiaries who are struggling with mental drug usage issues are also entitled to rehabilitation services and other benefits from drug use that is chronic.

The members can access the services at any of their enrolled facilities countrywide.

How to change and confirm

Beneficiaries can confirm and change their facilities by dialling *155#.

You can also download the mobile application, My NHIF App.

A beneficiary can also check the status of the registration through the official NHIF website.

Alternatively, you can visit any nearest branch office or Huduma Center in different parts of the country.

Those seeking further assistance have been advised to call a toll-free number, 0800 720 601.

Beneficiaries can receive an SMS every time they access services as a mode of notification.

They can even use the platform to report cases where they have received a notification and did not access services.

According to NHIF, the revamped scheme will help combat fraud, wastage, and abuse.
