Social media users may have seen a video of a middle-aged man dancing to the popular kunakuna song at a local nightclub.
The video, which shows the guy’s comedic antics as he dances to the song, quickly went viral after it was posted online, inspiring a wave of humorous memes.
John Ogilo Migun told Citizen TV that he is an assistant chief in the Northern Kisumu area.
After being asked about the video’s meteoric rise to fame, he revealed that he and his colleagues had gone out for a late lunch where the song was being played and he had to dance to it.
“The video was not planned. During our undercover mission, I heard the song and since I love it I began dancing and that’s when a random person recorded me and the video went viral,” he stated.
Migun said that the video was useful to him in his daily work with young people.
The assistant chief, who has been working to combat drug use in the town, said he can easily identify people taking part thanks to their openness toward him.
Not just the young people but also the parents have been lining up outside of his office to report instances of drug abuse in the general public.
“The video has helped me very much in my work as the youth and parents are now free to come to my office to report crimes.
For me, it has simplified communicating with locals. I love my work as assistant chief,” he uttered.
Migun declared that this wasn’t the first time he had become a viral sensation; however, this time it wasn’t due to his dancing or singing.
“I have been trending previously but through basketball, since I am an international basketball coach,” he stated.
The viral dancing chief, a native of the Kenyan city of Kisumu, revealed that his grandmother gave him the moniker “Baby,” which has now become well known.
Someone who is dubbed “baby” is considered extremely beautiful. He declared, “I will not drop that name and I will stay with my profession because I enjoy it.”
