After an outstanding performance in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination, the Ministry of Education has elevated Ossen Girls High School in Baringo County to National status.
The government awarded the girl school in Baringo North the status after the school consistently did well in past national tests, according to the Director General for Ministry of Education Paul Kibet, who made the announcement during the school’s thanksgiving event.
The school had a 7.6 mean score, up from 5.6 in 2020.
Kibet praised the school administration for improved performance, stating that the government will upgrade the infrastructure matching the status.
Leaders present among them Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis thanked the national government for elevating the school to a National school saying it will help improve education in the county.
