On Sunday evening, individuals, believed to be burglars, were attacked and killed in Nyamokenye village , Bonchari, Kisii County.
The deceased bodies were discovered hanging from electric poles.
Their identities were, however, not immediately established.
It has been reported by officials of Nyumba Kumi that the two were lynched after being caught in possession of stolen items.
“An assortment of stolen items found in their possession appears to have angered the public who went ahead to lynch them,” said Elijah Nyamweya, the Nyumba Kumi official.
Among the things found were gas cylinders and television sets suspected to have been stolen from several residences in Kisii town.
The bodies have been transferred to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
